President’s Message

Since 1970, the Australian Malaysian Singaporean Association (AMSA) has been a platform for Malaysians and Singaporeans living in Sydney to socialize and to network with each other. AMSA has since grown into a large multicultural association with a database of over 800 members at the end of May 2017.

Our vision is to make AMSA a place where members can Do Business, a place where members can Find Work, a place where members can Call Home, a place where members can get to Know Each Other and a place where members can Have Fun. I would like to cast the net wider so that one day we can also include members in all Australian states with this vision.

Our objectives are to:

  1. organise regular business networking functions to promote interaction with the local business community;
  2. organise regular social and sports events;
  3. celebrate our various cultural festivals;
  4. help new migrants from Malaysia and Singapore to settle in Australia;
  5. expand our AMSA network of members and sponsors.

Our membership is open to all nationalities and we welcome people from all walks of life to join our association . We continue our efforts to reach out to the wider Malaysian and Singaporean communities in Sydney. We rely on word of mouth advertising and referrals so we encourage everyone that has enjoyed and benefited from our events to invite more friends along.

We are committed to giving value to our members and sponsors and running good events that are well attended. We run a wide range of events from bushwalking, tennis, meet and mingle, to Business Drinks, our cultural events and Annual Gala Dinner.

Our dynamic committee are all volunteers working to contribute and make a difference, and I warmly invite you to get involved as a volunteer to help run AMSA alongside us . I am confident that with the active participation and support of our members and sponsors, AMSA will continue to thrive and to continue to serve the interest of our diverse communities in Australia. Let’s make AMSA a better place for everyone.
