AMSA Lunar New Year Dinner 2021

Writer's picture: AMSAAMSA

Celebrating family, friends and togetherness is a major theme during Lunar New Year. Our dinner celebrations have been one of our most popular events on our AMSA calendar. Delicious banquets of food, lion dances, social networking and fantastic prizes make this event a winning combination and a must attend.

The AMSA Chinese New Year Dinner is one of highlights in the annual event calendar. The 2021 celebration welcoming the year was no exception. We welcomed honored guests, members and guests at the Palace Chinese Restaurant. The lively celebrations were kicked off with a welcome message from our president Colin Lee, with notable addresses from Hon Victor Dominello MP and our sponsors. We had fun drawing fantastic prizes including hotel stays at Marriott Vacation and Grace Hotel, restaurant vouchers at Assembly Bar, Mamak, Paparich, Hilton, food and wine from Ayam and Bunnamagoo and finally entertainment vouchers at Idarts Zen. Congratulations to the lucky raffle winners.

Chinese New Year celebration would not be complete without the Lion Dance. The lion brings propensity and good luck for the new year. The loud bright performance chase away evil spirits and creates the festive atmosphere that characterizes the festive occasion. Some guests gave away red packets to the lion in exchange for a personal greeting by the lion.

The evening concluded with the DJ keeping the energy high and for the active souls a brilliant backdrop for some dancing. Guests received a thank you gift, the neck pillow proved a massive hit. We look forward to welcoming you at the next Chinese New Year event. Hope to you see you at our next event.
